Cast The Novel- Edward

El Patron: Al Pacino

Al Pacino has long been the staple to all Hollywood drug movies. In his current state he is an aged man who looks that part of a ruthless, aged drug lord. El Patron at this point in the novel is over 140 years of age and is a drug lord himself as well. First off Al Pacino is the best man to play El Patron because Al Pacino is now an aged man with not many actors his age, El Patron is extremely old therefore Al Pacino would be perfect for that aspect of him. Next we have the origin of El Patron, El Patron is a man of Mexican descent. Al Pacino is also from this part of the world. Next we have how El Patron is a notorious drug lord and a very twisted and evil man. Al Pacino has played many people of this particular role in movies such as Scarface, he would be the perfect choice to play El Patron because of his background. Overall Al Pacino would be an extremely affective character to cast for El Patron.

Evidence From the Text:
El Patron is 140 years old -> Al Pacino is now an older man making sense for him to play him (Farmer 54)

El Patron is of mexican descent as the text has proven through page 54 and the first pages on introduction to characters, Al Pacino is also from this part of the world and thus could pass off (54).

El Patron is twisted, he is an evil man “he is like a tree whose branches are all twisted”. Al Pacino regularly plays these types of characters (54).

Intro and Character pages-: El Patron is a drug lord in this novel, Al Pacino has played many drug lords in his time (37).

Tam Lin: Dolph Lundgreen

Tam Lin is best described by Dolph Lundgreen for a number of reasons. Tam Lin is described as a tough man with soft kind eyes in the house of the scorpion, he is assigned to Matt as his body guard by the powerful El Patron. First off Dolph Lundgreen could play Tam Lin because of his physical features, as described on page 63 Tam Lin has curly brown hair and blue eyes and Dolph Lundgreen fits this description. Dolph Lundgreen also has the proper attitude to fit the role of Tam Lin, in the house of the scorpion Tam Lin is a very tough guy but has a softer side to him. In movies like the expendables Dolph Lundgreen fits into this role perfectly where we see the tough guy attitude with slight hints of a softer side. Lastly Dolph Lundgreen has the perfect personality to play Tam Lin, we take one look at his face and we see a hint of harshness in Lundgreen; we also know that he can be a very colourful characters as shown by Rocky IV and the Expendables. Tam Lin is a very colourful character and has rough edges as well, overall Dolph Lundgreen would be the perfect Tam Lin.

Evidence from the text:

Brown Curly Hair, Blue eyes. The same as Tam Lin (Farmer 63).

Chapter Nine: Attitude relatively the same temperment as Tam Lin as we have seen through different movies such as the expendables. The tough guy sort of appeal (63).

Chapter Nine : Weathered and tough personality same as Tam Lin in the house of the scorpion. i.e bitten off ears etc (63).
